Oh, so beautiful. I think I am going to miss the blossoms on Lake Washington, boo! Remember Anne Thomas's blog, the one that wrote the Letter from Sendai. Well, here is a paragraph from a later post as she was searching for a new place to live:
I was perched on a stool in the very small real estate agent’s. There was another man there talking about his new apartment. He started telling about the place he was moving out of. "That old shack is really falling down. The front door does not close. The floor is wavy like the ocean. The bathroom floor is very precarious. And the whole house tilts downward." I got an inner chuckle out of what he said because those are the exact words I had used to describe the shack-turned-hovel I am moving out of. Then almost in the same breath, his true Japanese heart shone through. He turned to me and said, "I was down by the river the other day and the sakura trees were about to burst into full bloom. They were spectacular. Really gorgeous. You should go have a look. You will forget all your worries for a while." I wondered if I had been dreaming.
So, I better post some photos of cherry blossoms from Seattle, once they blom. It has been the coldest April on record this year so no blossoms yet - Maybe they will be ready when you come home for your next visit Irene.
But, Noah, seriously, you are in Hungary where they definitely know their sausages. Just look at the shops you are giving us pictures of. Anyway, when are you going to find a local who knows the "old ways" and learn how to make genuine Hungarian styles of sausages? I think that may be a very good weekend project to consider.

It's a Japanese thing, these blossoms!
You know, my racial identity is a bit confused, and not all that strong regardless. But . . . one week out of the year, I am fully 100% Japanese
